Apple River Fort State Historic Site
Apple River Fort was a defensive stockade built during the 1832 Black Hawk War to protect settlements along the Apple River in Jo Daviess County, Illinois. The Fort shares its story through living history programs from May through October. The Interpretive Center is available throughout the year with displays depicting lead mining and native life.

Chicago Great Western Railway Depot Museum
The Depot museum is located in a former Chicago Great Western Railway station and focuses on the the railroads of northwestern Illinois, prioritizing the Chicago Great Western. The Depot Museum also has an extensive library with over one-thousand railroad books and thousands of railroad artifacts displayed in the museum's collection.

Elizabeth History Museum
The museum houses over four-thousand local history artifacts inluding exhibits on lead mining and farming. Many special exhibits hold local flavor with artifacts from area businesses, schools, and churches. Also home to an extensive collection of military artifacts, featuring numerous items from local veterans.
