October 1, 2020
Click here to hear a PSA from Village of Elizabeth President, Michael Dittmar, and Elizabeth Area Chamber of Commerce President, Merri Sevey, regarding guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. We ask that you mask up and social distance for your safety and ours, keeping Elizabeth and Jo Daviess County open for business.

After the Governor's stay at home order today, the Village wanted to put out an update on what is changing in the Village. The answer is, not much. The Village's main goal is to keep our services running, water and sewer will continue to run. We have lots of chemicals in stockpile and we have ordered more on the way. Also, the police will continue to answer police calls.
The Village has allowed 15 minute parking for restaurants, the clinic, and the pharmacy to help those businesses with traffic. All will remain open during the emergency. Please continue to shop local as much as possible.
Here is what is changing. The Village Hall will not be open to the public. The Village Clerk will still be there working, will still accept mail and phone calls. You just won't be able to do business in person. Don't forget that all bills can be paid online.
Also, at the request of the Dollar General, the Village Police Department will be making walk throughs randomly during the day and night.
As of Saturday at 5:00 pm, both playgrounds in the Village will be closed. It will only be the playgrounds, both parks will stay open.
I would expect a Code Red call this weekend to inform citizens that do not have Facebook to get this information. Please help family members get access to Facebook that don't have it to stay informed.
That is it. Do not hesitate at anytime to call Village Hall or the Mayor's personal cell 815-218-0597 for any questions or concerns. Emergencies please dial 911.
Stay Healthy!
Village President, Michael Dittmar
